‘Ethnic’ Matters more than a Good Resume, Deal with it!

In August 2011, two senior lecturers from University of Malaya, Dr. Lee Hwok Aun and Dr. Muhammed Abd Khalid conducted an experiment to find out how much ‘ethnicity’ matters when applying for a job in Malaysia.
They sent out some 3,012 fictitious Malay and Chinese ethnics resumes of varying qualities and qualifications in response to job advertisements.  For each job, the researchers sent out four fake resumes according to race but all with more or less the same traits and qualities.  All the “applicants” were male with no prior working experience but have a basic qualification in the field being applied for.
The employers are being divided into “Chinese-controlled, Malay-controlled or foreign-controlled” company.  (From my experience, it is save to consider foreign-controlled company as ‘Chinese-controlled company’ too, because it is usually run by Chinese while the foreign CEO or MD or Chairman oversees things from a ‘distant’).
From the total resumes sent, 13.1%(396) received callbacks.  Of those, only 4.2%(63) were Malays, and 22.1%(222) were Chinese.
The study also found that the quality of applicants appeared to matter more for Malays than for the Chinese.  Meaning, Chinese can get low CGPA but still get the job and Malays may get a Dean’s List but not be called for the interview.
This is no surprised.  This, is the reality of living in Malaysia that only the most hypocrites or the blinds would deny.
The findings was presented in a seminar and was given due publicity.  As expected, it received harsh responses, as seen in the comments of the readers of Malaysiakini or Malaysia Today.  It looks to me that they all ‘ganged-up’ on the net to discredit the experiment.
Being good Malaysians who did not want to stir the air, both Dr. Lee and Dr. Muhammad had only this to say in conclusion:  They cannot say for certain if racism is one of the factors.
So, the number of callbacks by both ethnics not necessarily had anything to do with ‘racism’.
It could be that these lecturers did not provide the most attractive photos of the Malay applicants in the resume.  Hmm….
You know what?  The biggest problem in Malaysia is not racism, but the denial that racism is real.   I’m not saying that there are no racist Malays.  Of course there are, but their numbers is just too low to even mention, as proven by the same experiment whereby a Chinese applying to a Malay company has about the same chances as a Malay applicant.
The discrimination against the Malays in the private sector is as real and as racist as the Affirmative Action or Hak Istimewa Bumiputera itself, only worse because there is no definite way to prove or measure the degree of discrimination and the worst because most Malaysians are reluctant to admit that Chinese are generally racists.
Even the two lecturers who had come out with the experiments tried their best to ‘tone-down’ the findings in order to not ‘hurt’ the Chinese.  Not that they are not aware that the Chinese have never toned-down their attacks on Affirmative Action or Hak Istimewa Bumiputera.
One must remember that the experiment had only gone as far as ‘callback for interviews’, not yet explore the chances of the Malays in ‘getting the job’ and ‘salary offered to both races’.   I’m sure that if there was, the findings would never be announced.
The two lecturers had done a great job in opening the doors for the government to take up the matter and solve the problem.  Ahah, in your dreams!
The findings, I believe, remains a record on the shelf and is already ‘fading’ away by now.
You see, we can tell the government to abolish Bumi Rights as a mean to tackle discrimination against the minorities in education and public sector, but how do we deal with discrimination against the Bumis in private sector?
It seems that nobody dares or nobody knows what to do about it.  Therefore, might as well deny it, sweep it under the carpet and hope that somehow, some day, the problem will just evaporate.  Of course, it will not, but will only keep mounting.
This is why I keep saying that the Malays have no choice but to be racists and guard their rights with all their might because if they don’t they will end up facing closed doors in every opportunity in this Chinese-dominated economy.
Chinese and Malays are both racists because racism has to go both ways in this country, or else, the Malays will end up not being able to further studies or get a job and will become beggars, homeless, thus, have no buying power, unless, they become  criminals.  Consequently, business can never prosper and everybody loses.
I’m no Chinese and neither am I a Malay therefore, I’m not a racist.  I just say things as it is.

Diplomatic Relation between Taiwan and Malaysian-Chinese?

Taiwan has been known as the most preferable place for the Malaysian Chinese to further study and work, but the number has gradually reduced over the years as competition rises. Due to this, according the reports by Chinese newspapers, the Taiwan is offering some very attractive opportunities in its effort to attract foreign students.

Taiwan is being chosen by Malaysians Chinese because the country recognized the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) which is not recognized in Malaysia. Malaysian government refused to recognize UEC as it defies the effort of unity and is against the country’s aspiration of bringing the people together with one language. The students from SJKC or private chinese schools are known for their poor national language skill and lack of knowledge in the country’s history.

It is proven today that Chinese schools produced unpatriotic Malaysians. This was displayed to us by our students in Taiwan as they held our Malaysian flags upside down as a protest against 2013 election result.

They are not only unpatriotic but very much a racist. Their hatred towards Malays and Islam seems unbearable as shown in comments and posts in the social media. The hatred is spread around the internet and on the ground that it has now become a threatening disease.

What is interesting is that some Malays and Indians chose to send their kids to SJKC too, and many of them are able to master Mandarin perfectly. Few of them could have ended up in one of Taiwan’s university too....I don’t know.

However, unfortunately for these Malays and Indians, they are not entitled to the attractive offers by the Taiwan government as mentioned above.

The Taiwan government has made it clear that the offers are only for the Malaysian Chinese and not for all excellent UEC holders or Taiwan University graduates. In other words, apart from the diplomatic relation between the two countries, there is also a thing called ‘diplomatic relation between a country and a race’.

Among the offers made by Taiwan are job opportunities specifically for the Malaysian Chinese in Taiwan and a Credit Guarantee by Taiwan government specifically for Malaysian Chinese entrepreneurs without collateral, to receive bank loans in Malaysia.

Wow! Do you know what this means? It means that the Taiwan government is taking care of the Malaysian Chinese almost like their own ‘rakyat’. Now, the Chinese don’t have to ask for Malaysian government’s help anymore, they have Taiwan government to back them up. Problem with UEC is solved now because the Chinese kids can just further study and work in Taiwan. There is no need to question Malaysian government helping bumiputera businessmen anymore because the Chinese businessmen can run to Taiwan government for the same.

But I have a better idea, why don’t all Chinese move to Taiwan instead? That way would be easier for everybody. No more cries over Chinese Education, no more grudges over Bumi rights and no more Muslim’s prayer calls in the morning. We could all live a happier life after all.

What we can learn from this is that the racial bond of the Chinese is real. Their racism is real.
They can be Malaysians or Americans or Indonesians but their loyalty is only for the race and their love is only for the money. This, we must understand. Failure to understand this, will lead the country down the hill.

MCA, Gerakan, DAP, whatever their names are, they are the same. They are the Chinese. They stand as one - one way or the other. There is no right or wrong for the Chinese as they take it as they are always right. Someone put a cow’s head in front of an Indian MP’s house and blame the Malays, they must, not the Chinese. There is no need for an Investigation or Inquiry as the proper channels are only needed when a Chinese is being blamed.

You can’t argue on economic facts or chart up a graph to show how the government have helped them grow, and expect them to agree because they never will agree. They will only stop demanding when they have had it all and ‘all’ for them, is infinite.

They tell you that you must not bribe, but bribery is how they build their business. They accuse you of cronyism when they are given government monopoly contracts on a silver platter. They manipulate their party election and they call you a cheater.

They can do all these because they are racists. Hey, this is a fact just like it is a fact that Malays are mostly lazy.

You see, this is what the Chinese are all about. Hypocrites, shameless, no moral stance, no factual arguments, no guilt, no sorry, no thank you, no nothing until they get their feet up on your heads. All their talks about values are only for others - not them. All talks about patriotism, unity and aspiration will only be translated by them as ‘Chinese Supremacy’. Trying to negotiate with them is a proof of weakness which will only lead you to your palms and knees. You can't win with a racist unless you are a racist too.

I am sure that not all Chinese are as heartless, but finding one rationale Chinese is like finding a needle in a haystack. If only the government is clever enough to identify the rare species of rationale Chinese and get them together to form a force and work something out, maybe replace the NUCC or whatever…then, we might still have hopes.

Until then, the Malays will just have to defend their rights as fiercely as the Chinese try to grab it away. Now, don't hate the Chinese if you can't defend your rights.

“‘Lim Ah Guan’ Is Not Chinese, You Stupid Racist!”

Recently, a Minister, Tan Sri Joseph Kurup has come out with an idea to remove ‘race’ category in all forms and official forms. This way, he said, would help to truly unite all Malaysians whereby we don’t identify ourselves by race anymore.

The idea was received with a ‘slap’ by Perkasa, which I think the Tan Sri deserves.

As expected, MCA loves the idea and I bet so does DAP, since the same idea was raised by Hannah Yeoh not long ago when she couldn’t bring herself to register her newborn as an Indian - as per the father.

I really cannot imagine how does declaring one’s race would spark racial sentiment – unless, of course, for the hard-core racists.

And I honestly don’t think that Tan Sri Joseph is a racist, but I must apologize to the Tan Sri as I think that his idea is ‘delusionally-naïve’.

The only way to make the idea of removing ‘race’ in forms achieves its objective is by making sure that all Malaysians use Malaysian name, just like how Indonesians use Indonesian name regardless of their race. Our names identify our race that we don’t need the word ‘race:’ to divide us.

For example, there is no point in not stating the race if the name is Ahmad, Lim Ah Guan or Muthusamy. Everybody knows that Lim Ah Guan is not a Malay and Muthusamy is not a Chinese. Unless all Chinese and Indians are willing to be called Ali or Murad, then only the idea will make some sense.

However, I believe that the Chinese would be jumping up and down just hearing about my suggestion of using a Malaysian name. I can already hear them screaming ‘RACIST!’ hysterically and point out that Malaysian name must not necessarily sounds Malay. Well..well..so much of Malaysian first eh? Who is the racist here again?

So, how does a Malaysian name sounds like? Lim Ah Guan? Or Richard?

A true Malaysian must accept the fact that Malaysian identity is based on and revolves around Malay culture and tradition. A true Malaysian must embrace the country as it is – the roots and the routes it took to be what it is today.

If you refuse to acknowledge these facts, then not stating your race in official forms doesn’t make you a true Malaysian, but makes you the greatest hypocrite of all.

You see, removing ‘race’ in forms will not make a racist less racist, nor will it make the Chinese more patriotic and willing to let their kids join the army. Removing ‘race’ will not make DAP hates Malays any less.

However, I bet it will open more opportunities for the Chinese to climb the ladder to the highest posts in GLCs but will not guarantee the same opportunity for the Malays in private sectors. It will also help the Chinese conquer government projects, but it will not guarantee the Malay entrepreneurs to not be sabotaged by the Chinese wholesalers, manufacturers or shop-owners.

Now, be informed that ‘race’ is always the game here and I’m only helping the Malays and the Bumis to see it clearly. Don’t be so naïve ok? Don’t be delusional also. The only people who support Tan Sri Joseph’s idea of unity are the racists, disguised only in slogans of ‘Malaysian First’. These people are pathetic hypocrites of the worst possible kind.

If these people are sincere in striving for unity, then they must first let go of vernacular schools which is clearly ‘race-based’. Except for Malaysia, no other country in the world has vernacular schools as everybody knows that it would become the breeding ground of the racists.

In fact, I believe that we would not be talking about this stupid racial sentiments and Tan Sri Joseph wouldn’t come out with his stupid idea of removing ‘race’ in forms, and I, would not be writing this stupid article, if Malaysia didn’t have the stupid vernacular schools in the first place.

As stupid as the Tan Sri’s idea is, the people who is pushing for the idea are not that stupid, but only stupid enough to think that everybody else is as stupid. So, how stupid can you be?

Malaysians VS Malays-ians?

DAP keeps on denying that there was a ‘Chinese Tsunami’ in the last General Election. According to DAP’s ‘common-sense’, the case of 97% Chinese rejected BN in the last election is supposed to be referred to as ‘Malaysian’s Tsunami’ not ‘Chinese’. In the same breath, DAP insists that they are not ‘Chinese’ but instead, ‘Malaysians’.

If ‘Malaysians’ rejected BN, then who were those people who voted for BN in the election? Aren’t they Malaysians too? Since UMNO’s vote had increased despite BN’s worst performance, then the answer to the question must be the ‘Malays’. The Malays are not Malaysians, eh?

With that, DAP is indirectly saying that Malaysia is divided into two: the ‘Malaysians’ on one side, and ‘Malays’ on the side.

And now, DAP is pushing for a National Reconciliation in order to tackle the racial polarization problems. And I thought that we have no racial problems? I thought it was just a case of some ‘Malaysians’ prefers PR over BN?

I’ve been reading Lim Kit Siang’s blog and I can tell you that almost every piece of material in it is about racial problems. Since there are no more ‘race’ in Malaysia (because we are all ‘Malaysians’, according to Kit Siang’s common sense), this racial problems must be started by the ‘un-Malaysian-Malays-who-voted-UMNO’.

Now, can you see how Kit Siang plays his racist card?

If you can’t see that, then let me explain it to you:

Kit Siang is telling us that the problem of this country is the Malays in UMNO and that the only way to solve this problem is to get rid of Malays and UMNO. Without Malays and UMNO, Malaysia would be a better country.

Now, let me tell you what ‘better country’ means for Kit Siang:

A better country for Kit Siang is where the Malays no longer hold the political power and the chinese can build properties on any kampung they like; Kampung Baru would be first and foremost. A better country for Kit Siang is when no Malays hold any top posts in any government agencies and GLCs anymore. A private company may pay double or triple to some stupid Chinese or expatriates, but never ever promote or hire even the most outstanding Malays for top posts. A better country for Kit Siang is when there are no more rooms for the Malays to compete with the Chinese – no UiTM, no GiatMara, no ASB, no government special bumi loans or grants to start a business, no nothing for the Malays! And there must also be no JAKIM and no Sultans to protect the needs of the Muslims in regards of their religion.

Again, the only thing that is holding ‘the Malaysians’ back from Kit Siang’s version of a ‘better country’ is UMNO and Malays! Am I right, Kit Siang?

There, I have laid it out to you loud and clear. If you like Kit Siang’s version of a better country, then it is your choice. However, I would like to point out to you that you should not call yourself a Malaysian if you agree with Kit Siang. What Kit Siang has in mind is a replica of Singapore with himself as Lee Kwan Yew. Therefore, it will only make more sense if you call yourself a Singaporean instead.

To save the trouble for all of you guys who love Kit Siang’s idea of a better country, I suggest that you migrate to Singapore because that way, you don’t have to get rid of the Malays and UMNO. The only setback would be, it won’t be Kit Siang that is holding the power, but Lee Kwan Yew. And this is why Kit Siang needs to turn Malaysia into Singapore so that he can be the power that be, and not any other guy from some other clans. Bottomline is, Kit Siang battle is all about power for himself or at least, his family.

As for me, I can never agree with Kit Siang. A person who refused to assimilate with the original settlers is simply arrogant and rude. History has proven that such a person is a definite tyrant. How does a tyrant make a good leader and create a better country?

In Malaysia, we have not one Kit Siang, but almost all these supposedly ‘Malaysians’ share Kit Siang’s dream of a better country where there is nothing Malaysian about it. They refuse to honour the national language, they choose to be separated from the national education system, want to abolish or change the constitution, history, identity and everything that spells Malaysian. In fact they want to create another ‘Singapore’ on Malaysian ground, complete with a taste of ‘China’ in it.

For your information, my relatives in Australia are beginning to get pissed off of the Chinese immigrants over there for the same reason – they refuse to assimilate and started to build their own ‘territory’ – even seem to want to conquer the country, part by part, town by town. I mean, who can tolerate such attitude?

For me, a better country is where the people live in harmony by respecting each other mutually and equally. A better country is where the people share the love of the country just the same, embrace history and accept it as it is, learn from it and strive to be better, together. You cannot claim to be a Malaysian until you can relate to Parameswara, Sultan Muzafar Shah, Hang Tuah, Tun Perak or Dato’ Bahaman or Mat Kilau or Kanang Anak Langkau…etc..

You see, although you have the rights to agree with Kit Siang about a ‘better Malaysia’, but that would mean that you have no rights to call yourself a ‘Malaysian’. And whatever you say will not change the fact that what happened in GE13 was definitely a Chinese Tsunami, not Malaysians.

It is not the ‘government’ that is a problem for DAP or Kit Siang, it is the ‘Malay-government’. It is not UMNO, but it is the fact that UMNO represents the Malays.

With DAP, it has always been the Chinese against the Malay-UMNO-government.

PR Waving White Flag?

Yesterday 26th January, 2014, Anwar Ibrahim made a special announcement to the rakyat, calling for a ‘truce’ with Barisan Nasional. He voiced out his ‘concerns’ over the worsening racial polarization in the country and wanted to put the nation first, before politics. For that, he wants to sit down with BN, to talk things over and find the best ways to put an end to the rising racial tension.

I must say that it sounded obnoxiously dramatic when it comes from Anwar’s mouth.

Last week, Lim Kit Siang voiced the same thing. He suggested for BN and PR to form a joint Summit secretariat to assure the people that there will never be another 13 May.

And coming from Kit Siang’s mouth it sounded like a bark that means ‘UMNO Racist!’

I don’t believe anything good that comes out from these politicians’ mouths.

We have witnessed UMNO holding out hands to PAS for a shake but were rejected again and again but we have never imagined DAP holding out hands to BN. Not as long as BN is led by UMNO.

Anwar holding out hands for BN, on the other hand, is not a surprise. This guy would hold out his hands, his legs, his heart, his pride and everything if it means getting a step closer to power.

By the way, talks about Anwar wanting to ‘work together’ with BN have been going on since after Lahad Datu. Anwar was said to be desperate to escape conviction and was willing to ‘negotiate’ for his name to be cleared. But this time, it is more than just a selfish call.

This time, Anwar is calling for truce in the capacity of ‘DAP’s tool’ for building bridges to reach out to the Malays.

We know that Kit Siang has been harping about 13 May in his blog postings ever since the kangkung flash-mob by PKR’s Lee Khai Loon. Although DAP insists that it was not a racist issue and that DAP has nothing to do with it, but the situation has now come to an ‘Orange Alert’ anyway, thanks to DAP’s hate-campaign all year round.

DAP then suddenly realized that they have gone overboard in inciting hatred towards the Malay-led government and now have to double their effort in gaining the Malay’s support and trust.

However, it is a little too late now, isn’t it, Kit Siang? The hatred that you have been sowing is now growing and spreading uncontrollably. Suddenly, a Chinese Principal made a Muslim convert Chinese teacher to take out her head-scarf if she wanted to continue teaching in SJKC and some Chinese audience made a Muslim convert singer to do the same if she wanted to perform in their company’s event.

Few days after, we were stunned by a police report of a Chinese SJKC teacher making a cow out of his Malay students. The teacher might have passed it as not being a racial issue, but still it is a human rights issue.

The funny part is that I don’t hear any human rights activist screaming over it. The fact is that, this is no small matter. A teacher is supposed to be teaching the kids about respect and humanity, to be an example of everything good. But this teacher has now taught all the kids in the school that it is okay to humiliate other people. And just imagine the trauma and shame that the student has to endure. He must have lost his self-confidence altogether. It could be a life-long suffering.

I wonder what if the same was done by a Malay teacher to a Chinese student? It would surely become the international news headlines. PR would have turned the country upside down. I can already imagine a speech by Marina Mahathir about how ‘inhumane’ and ‘barbaric’ the Malay teacher is.

But none of these occurred because the teacher is a Chinese and the student is a Malay and DAP, PR, the Human Rights NGOs and activists are all a bunch of hypocrites.

Therefore, this ‘bridge’ that Anwar is supposed to help DAP build, is nothing but a false call for unity to buy some time for the race to Putrajaya. Once they get there, unity can go to hell and the Malays can just go and die and the Chinese will rule; don’t we hear this often enough on DAP’s supporters’ social network?

Therefore, this ‘talk’ or ‘truce’ that PR is proposing to BN should not be entertained. Anwar is merely a tool to hide the true racist colour of DAP.

Now, bear this in mind: Kit Siang knows that whatever he is doing will lead to racial tension. He had done it before and he is doing it again.

So, we don’t talk to a tool and we certainly don’t talk to a hypocrite. These people will never admit anything. Talking with them will only heightened the anxiety of the people and will only confirm the perception that the government is in a very weak state.

My sincere advice to BN is, don’t make the people angrier than they already are.
